骨製品: Bone Production

最近我對Mika的"Grace Kelly"可以說是完全上癮了。
很奇妙的歌名, 無法被歸類的曲風, very catchy,
尤其副歌的假音部分, 總讓我忍不住sing along, 一遍又一遍的replay。

或許很多人不知道(還是我又自大的把大家當白痴了?), 但"Grace Kelly"確有其人,
她是美國早期非常知名的電影女星, 兼具實力與絕世美貌, 後來在生涯巔峰毅然息影嫁入皇室, 成為摩納哥王妃, 當年是許多少女夢想中的典範, 可惜晚年不幸死於一場車禍(倒不是因為狗仔, 而是因為九彎十八拐)。

我超愛Grace, 個人認為她是全世界(dead or alive)最美麗的人(第二名是Audrey Hepburn),
她的作品中, 我最推薦希區考克執導的名片"後窗"(Rear Window),
很好看的一部老電影, 即使以現代的標準來看, 概念還是非常原創,
Grace在片中既幽默又美得發亮, 而且人如其名的優雅。

拉回主題, Mika這張獨特, 風格百變, 而且充滿了濃濃遊戲意味的debut專輯"Life In Cartoon Motion", 一下子就使他成為近期我最注意的新聲音。
("Mika"這個關鍵字在中文網路實在非常不容易查詢, 跑出來的不是中島美嘉, 就是一大堆莫名其妙的AV女優)
專輯好聽歸好聽, 但以Keyboard為主的編曲總讓我覺得稍微"薄"了些,
若說得嚴苛一點, 整體感覺像是一張做得非常非常好的Demo,
某些曲子使我回想起小時候紅極一時的Chipmunk Albums,
而某些曲子(特別是"Stuck In The Middle")更明顯受到Scissor Sisters的影響, 不過不知道是不是刻意的就是了,
不過他確實很會唱也很能唱, 俏皮中帶了絲騷勁的歌聲非常對我的味,
現在我才發現自己其實還蠻喜歡這種有點三八的假音男聲的,
我想, 如果我活在Disco時代的話, 或許會很迷Bee Gees吧!

P.s. 後來從某訪談中發現曲名"Grace Kelly"的典故, 原來Mika的祖母認為Grace Kelly是世界上最完美的人, 因此他就以她作為絕對完美的象徵; 曲中他唱著: "I try be like Grace Kelly", 事實上就等於"I try be perfect"。
