骨製品: Bone Production

竟然忘記介紹"Lily Chou-chou", 我真白痴。
這幾天無意間聽見, 又特別重聽了,
真是好聽得讓人想死啊!

透明, 空靈, 無力, 美得非常恐怖,
"呼吸"是一張完美的電影原創音樂專輯,
風格多變, 概念完整, 張力飽滿, (完了, 形容詞不太夠用, 我已經開始自我重複了)
無論音樂, 演唱, 製作, 還是內涵, 每一首都無法挑剔的棒棒棒!!!
唯一的缺點就是太短了, 收錄曲目太少了, 我要更多啦!

Salyu充滿無力感及厚度的歌聲真是難以形容,
她那種淡淡的(但又好像隨時就要哭出來), 有點小瑕疵, 甚至有點刻意拖拍(說好聽是慵懶), 直接, 又有點接近聲樂式的唱法, 是我所聽過把無奈, 無力, 與傷痛的感覺詮釋得最完美貼切的聲音。
(這方面, 很抱歉這麼說, 但她比Cocco強; 啊~ 對不起啦! 女神, 我還是很愛你, 但像小女孩一樣的Salyu是最溫柔的死亡天使啊!)

但說真的, 聽久了真的會有點想死。
想永遠停留在這幸福完美的一瞬間。

因為徹底的絕望無力而哭泣,
因為凌駕一切之上的無限的美而低泣,
在撫慰的同時, 溫柔的掐死每一朵傷痕累累的靈魂。


電影("All about Lily Chou-chou", 岩井俊二導演)也很美,
色彩, 構圖, 畫面, 皆如詩般夢幻, 飄邈,
但卻也太過殘忍。

我看了之後有點不太舒服, 因為校園中那些令人討惡的回憶, 和青春的抑鬱全都被它喚(驚)醒了。
與撕OK繃的訣竅(快狠準)完全相反, 它緩慢而輕柔地扒開已經稍稍結痂的創口, 還拼命往裡頭灑鹽添醋,
那錐心刺骨的痛, 還真不是一般人所能承受的。

雖然基本上它是充滿包容, 毫無批判的,
但直到現在, 儘管喜歡, 我還是不太敢隨便亂看。
(不過我也因為這部電影而迷上了德布西)

最近我對Mika的"Grace Kelly"可以說是完全上癮了。
很奇妙的歌名, 無法被歸類的曲風, very catchy,
尤其副歌的假音部分, 總讓我忍不住sing along, 一遍又一遍的replay。

或許很多人不知道(還是我又自大的把大家當白痴了?), 但"Grace Kelly"確有其人,
她是美國早期非常知名的電影女星, 兼具實力與絕世美貌, 後來在生涯巔峰毅然息影嫁入皇室, 成為摩納哥王妃, 當年是許多少女夢想中的典範, 可惜晚年不幸死於一場車禍(倒不是因為狗仔, 而是因為九彎十八拐)。

我超愛Grace, 個人認為她是全世界(dead or alive)最美麗的人(第二名是Audrey Hepburn),
她的作品中, 我最推薦希區考克執導的名片"後窗"(Rear Window),
很好看的一部老電影, 即使以現代的標準來看, 概念還是非常原創,
Grace在片中既幽默又美得發亮, 而且人如其名的優雅。

拉回主題, Mika這張獨特, 風格百變, 而且充滿了濃濃遊戲意味的debut專輯"Life In Cartoon Motion", 一下子就使他成為近期我最注意的新聲音。
("Mika"這個關鍵字在中文網路實在非常不容易查詢, 跑出來的不是中島美嘉, 就是一大堆莫名其妙的AV女優)
專輯好聽歸好聽, 但以Keyboard為主的編曲總讓我覺得稍微"薄"了些,
若說得嚴苛一點, 整體感覺像是一張做得非常非常好的Demo,
某些曲子使我回想起小時候紅極一時的Chipmunk Albums,
而某些曲子(特別是"Stuck In The Middle")更明顯受到Scissor Sisters的影響, 不過不知道是不是刻意的就是了,
不過他確實很會唱也很能唱, 俏皮中帶了絲騷勁的歌聲非常對我的味,
現在我才發現自己其實還蠻喜歡這種有點三八的假音男聲的,
我想, 如果我活在Disco時代的話, 或許會很迷Bee Gees吧!

P.s. 後來從某訪談中發現曲名"Grace Kelly"的典故, 原來Mika的祖母認為Grace Kelly是世界上最完美的人, 因此他就以她作為絕對完美的象徵; 曲中他唱著: "I try be like Grace Kelly", 事實上就等於"I try be perfect"。

我從不唱KTV, (What's the point? 不知道大多數人為什麼喜歡)
但是如果逼不得已, 真的非唱不可, 那"The Origin of Love"一定會在我的歌單裡。
我非常喜歡唱這首歌, 歌詞多又密, 音韻極佳, 又寫得非常淒美,
整首歌架構完整, 高潮迭起, 引經據典, 還帶有故事性, 是近年來少有的Epic,
雖然愛唱, 但這首歌的前半段Key蠻低的, 害我總是得壓著脖子唱。
這首歌選自"Hedwig and the Angry Inch"電影原聲帶(Directed by John Cameron Mitchell; recent work: "Shortbus"),
電影好看(Cult classic; 以後一定會介紹), 原聲帶更是每首都好聽到嚇死人。

這首歌真不愧被票選為"英國有史以來最受歡迎的單曲"。
這麼說來, 雖然悶騷又還蠻愛聽舞曲的, 但英國人普遍一般的音樂鑑賞力還蠻高的。
也難怪他們會出了那麼多好樂團。

嘿嘿...., 俗話說"有一就有二"嘛!
我也超愛Bjork的這首"I've Seen It All"的,
是她和Radiohead的Thom Yorke的合作, 令人心碎的好聽, 喜歡Radiohead的朋友請務必去找來聽。
至於"在黑暗中漫舞"(Dancer in the dark)這部超好看的電影, 現正趕工中, 下次再介紹。

首張專輯Here Be Monsters的夢想藍圖, 艾德哈寇不畏虎的初試啼聲之作, 共收入6首創作, 其中包括稍後收入在Here Be Monsters的"Hanging With The Wrong Crowd"和"Apple Of My Eye"的原始版本, 以最簡陋的資源以及稍嫌克難的器材交出一張漂亮而且真摯的成績單。
整張專輯由艾德在自家以他的8軌錄音機錄下, 年僅23的他才華洋溢的包辦了其中所有詞曲創作、編寫、製作、混音、樂器演奏以及當然的, 演唱。
有些自溺, 一抹爵士, 回溯藍調; "Attaboy Go Spin A Yarn"隱約讓人回憶起甜美的Jeff Buckley, 而"Whistle Of A Distant Train"則是在潛意識中向傳奇Tom Waits的致敬之作。



Here Be Monsters
充斥著苦樂參半的憂鬱氣質, 有種令人不寒而顫的偏執, 參雜著令人難以自拔的浪漫情懷。
如果光是說艾德哈寇是當代最無懈可擊的情歌寫手, 那真的太低估他了, 但是他的音樂中確實存在著一種現今社會匱乏的特質。
說他是復古也罷, 是承襲自Brain Wilson、Tom Waits、Randy Newman、Harry Nillson等人以臻成熟的創作風格也好, 因為艾德哈寇的音樂中總是有著一股驕傲, 有著一股不媚俗的成熟氣度, 和他獨樹一格的味道。
即使你再怎麼不欣賞他的創作, 也無法漠視他那充滿真摯情感的高超唱功。
包括Mojo、Q和NME等英國的權威傳媒都將這張驚人的專輯評為"璀璨奪目"、"一枚精心切割的寶石"。
鞣製了精純的流行樂風和油漬搖滾, 他以一種古怪、詭詐的方式進行一場實驗; 其中更不匱乏輕巧的撥撩心弦, 令人振奮的愉悅情歌, 像是"Shanghai", "Apple of my Eye"和"She fell into my Arms"讓人暈陶於精巧的樂器演奏和艾德的聲線, 更別忘了啟發自自家故障汽鍋, 備受外界讚譽的史詩野心巨作"Beneath The Heart Of Darkness "。

睽違兩年後的強力新作, 經過先前一連串的宣傳和現場演唱, Ed的技巧更臻成熟。
溫暖, 整張專輯呈現出一股纖細的優美, 偶爾透露幾絲詭異("Ghost Writer", "Undertaker Strut"), 完美揉合了Brain Wilson, Tom Waits與Nick Cave, 以及一種壓縮到最極限的精緻。
流行, 卻出淤泥而不染, 平易近人而友善, 是一張非常適合入門的唱片。



Still I Dream Of It\The Ghosts Parade
這張單曲可能不好找, 但是真的, 真的好聽到要人命。
聽說"Still I Dream Of It"是翻唱自Ed所景仰的歌手Brain Wilson的舊作, 我沒聽過Brain的版本, 但是我相信Ed絕對是極其完美的成功詮釋了這首歌, 如果Brain的版本會比這首憂傷優美的曲子好聽, 那真的是沒天良了!
而第二首"The Ghosts Parade"則是Ed的原創, 動聽程度絕對不輸前者, 這更證明了他創作的功力已經足以與他的英雄相庭抗禮。
這兩首歌都是未曾收錄在專輯中的稀有曲目, 同樣都是在現今這個缺乏浪漫情懷的社會難得的哀傷小調, 美得像晶瑩的玻璃淚珠, 令人感到心揪的不捨。



All Of Your Days Will Be Blessed
這是擷取自Ed第二張專輯From Every Sphere的先發主打單曲, 以手風琴主導的旋律, 強烈輕快的節奏令人不禁聯想到上張專輯中的"上海"(Shanghai), 只不過作風稍加強悍, 大概是因為Ed急欲擺脫外界認為他是個蒼白青年的印象吧! 這張專輯的宣傳照Ed還特地擺了個有點刻意的硬漢姿態。
我個人非常喜歡這首歌充滿旋律感的Bass線, 還有賦予豐富意象的美麗歌詞, 唱起來有一種與生具來的韻律。
這張單曲另外還收錄了"Coal Blak Heart"和"Blackwoods Back Home"兩首未收入於專輯的曲子, 也都非常好聽, 典型的Ed Harcourt。
另外這張單曲還額外附加了"All Of Your Days Will Be Blessed"的MTV, 實在是非常的超值。

Strangers
充滿了激情, 相較於粹煉精純的前作(From Every Sphere), Ed在Strangers中所期望突顯"現場感"的野心是非常明顯的。
開門見山, 從"The Storm is coming"充滿了力道的鼓擊與粗糙的吉他噪音我們就能輕易看出這一點。
經過數年的歷練, Ed寫歌及演繹的功力, 卻絲毫不顯停滯, 一次又一次的破繭, 昇華, 無法被定義, 從他的創作中我看不見盡頭。
甜美的標題曲"Strangers"響起, 我們在類似的恰恰可愛節奏下, 與一個又一個美麗的陌生人偶遇, 錯身而過, 自傳式的"Born in the '70s"與優美感傷的"The Music Box"彷彿使我們更進一步貼近這無數美麗故事的作者, 窺見一個藝術家的養成與過去, 在回歸初始的"Something to live for"中Ed拉著手風琴自彈自唱, 不禁使人回想起Maplewood儉樸的時光。
雖然從不曾大紅(至少在台灣是這樣), 但這幾年下來, Ed也吸引了一群忠貞的跟隨者, 願意追隨他一次又一次的墜入甜美的黑暗中。

前一陣子在Ed的官網聽見一連串的新作(THE BEAUTIFUL LIE), 依舊蝕骨般悅耳, 但台灣這邊卻絲毫沒有動靜, 他該不會因為銷售因素而被放棄了吧! 像他這樣優秀的音樂人不該被現實因素埋沒。
